Job Overview

The Senior Accountant supports the Accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the timely processing of day-to-day accounting transactions. This role provides hands-on exposure to financial administration, month-end activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and compliance processes within an international business environment.

This position is designed for an experienced finance professional with 3+ years of accounting experience who is eager to further develop their expertise and grow within a broader finance and accounting career path.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Administration & Transaction Processing

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding and recording within the accounting system.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Prepare and process customer invoices, credit notes, and payment allocations.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Support the reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledger balances.

Month-End Closing & Reporting Support

  • Assist with month-end closing activities and journal entry preparation.
  • Support account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting purposes.
  • Assist in maintaining fixed asset records and other accounting registers.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing the required documentation and information.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure accounting transactions comply with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
  • Assist with tax-related documentation and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support the maintenance and effectiveness of internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Identify and escalate unusual transactions or accounting issues when necessary.
  • Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy of financial information.

Process Improvement & Data Quality

  • Maintain and improve accounting files, templates, and records.
  • Support the standardization and documentation of accounting procedures.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of accounting data.
  • Assist in testing and implementing process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Gradually build expertise in financial systems, including ERP and reporting tools used across the organization.

Skills & Personal Attributes

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong affinity for numbers and financial administration.
  • Good Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and pivot tables.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
  • Interest in accounting systems, automation, and process improvement.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as D365, SAP, or similar platforms is considered an advantage.

  • Fluent in English (minimum B2 level).
  • Structured, reliable, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong sense of accuracy, ownership, and accountability.
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance administration, or a related role.
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an international or multi-entity environment is considered an advantage.
  • Previous internship experience in Finance or Accounting will be considered a plus.
